Wedding Bells

We’re rushing down the aisle, ‘cos this Pinterest-worthy wedding venue is our dream come true.

Destination weddings are so hot right now and this wedding season our choice of venue is the fabulous Lake de la Vie situated along the Garden Route in Port Elizabeth. Our favourite thing about Lake de la Vie? The entrance! Situated on Royalston Wildlife Estate, your trip to the fabulous venue will take you on a 5km meander through the African plains and indigenous forests that are home to sable, giraffe, zebra, eland and a host of other animals that welcome you to the Venue. The Venue itself lies along the banks of Port Elizabeth’s largest freshwater lake. Breathtaking views that make for Instagram-worthy wedding photographs!

The main wedding area seats 250 guests with a dance floor. It is fully air conditioned for those warm days, so you are comfortable through your celebrations. With its beautiful solid wood floors, shutter doors that open onto manicured lawns, lush gardens and a stunning view of the lake, the venue is ideal for nature lovers. For inclement weather, your guests are able relax in the adjacent Chandelier Room which opens onto the swimming pool and has lovely garden views with twinkling fairly lights adding a touch of romance.

The venue also hots a chapel for those who want to get married in a more traditional venue. The chapel is set within the forest and the walkway is lined with mossy acacias that lead you to its stone walls, arched double doors, red carpet and elegant chandeliers that line the isle. Hand painted murals along the floor and windows that open up to the forest canopy add an extra whimsical touch to your ceremony.

Their bridal suite is the perfect place to get ready or spend the night post-wedding.  The bridal room is resplendent with a large 4 poster bed and en suite bathroom with spa shower and spa bath. The open plan kitchen and lounge open onto the patio and the adjacent guest room with its 4 poster bed and en suite offer ample room for you to entertain your bridal party. This is a popular option for our brides who wish to spend a special evening with their bridesmaids before their big day. The chalet is located just down the road from the Chapel and therefore is most convenient. The room is serviced in the afternoon so that it is refreshed for the bride and groom on their wedding night.

Lake de la Vie welcomes ceremonies of all religious, as well as same-sex nuptials.
