If you’re travelling to Pretoria for work or play, there’s only one luxury hotel we recommend (and it’s so fabulous you might stay longer than planned!)
The Menlyn Boutique Hotel is the best thing to happen to our capital city and it’s the perfect place for dignitaries, business wo(men) or luxury revelers. Aside from the 5-star service, percale sheets and sink-into-me bath tubs, the hotel offers a standard of fine dining we’ve enjoyed at the top Michelin restaurants in the world.
As part of the WH Leisure Group, the hotel is the perfect balance between work and play. While all the amenities needed for business travel are available; the pool, spa and lounge areas offer a barefoot-luxury feel. Guests are urged to loosen their ties or kick off their heels and enjoy a flute of bubbly in the hotel’s Champagne lounge or a glass of award-winning vino from their extensive boutique -wine -estate collection. Throw in the hotel’s fully-equipped gym and spa packages and it’s easy to see why we didn’t want to leave.
Perhaps the greatest asset to the hotel is their cordon bleu restaurant, Black Bamboo. Overseen by renowned chef, Pellie Grobler, the restaurant couples deliciously visual dishes with a wide variety of wines. The most famous and Insta-worthy dishes on the menu include the upside-down meringue, tempura oysters, springbok wellington and prosciutto wrapped fillet. Open to hotel guests and the general public, Black Bamboo without a doubt offers the best culinary experience in Pretoria.
After a luxurious meal, a hot bubble bath and crisp linen (that makes turn-down ever more luxurious) it’s no wonder why some of our countries top movers and shakers seek the Menlyn Boutique hotel as their home -away -from -home in Pretoria.
