Genevieve’s besties of the week
This week I’m gearing up for the silly season, and with holiday parties around the corner I’ve chosen my four must-have glam products.
When it comes to braving the season of holiday office parties and drinks on Clifton beach these items are a must to keep you looking and smelling fab!
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
This product is my favourite thing to put on newly blow dried hair! It smooths, conditions and seals hair strands and works wonders to make hair silky, shiny and frizz-free in any weather (This why I love this product when I’m in Cape Town because without it, one hour at Shimmy Beach club and my perfectly straightened hair is out of control). The lightweight silicone works to smooth, condition and add shine while the award-winning formula is perfect for speeding up hair drying time to give you silky-smooth results in less time.

Apply a walnut size to the mid length and ends of your hair before and after blow drying.
Matis Radient Cleansing Water
Radiant Cleansing Water is a cleansing miscellar water that gently cleanses and exfoliates. It removes all traces of make-up and impurities, by optimizing cell renewal thanks to its exfoliating action. By preparing the skin and giving it a glowing effect, it is the perfect product over summer when you want to wear less make-up but glow more. With a very fresh and slightly iridescent texture, Radiant Cleansing Water leaves a vibrant and modern fragrance on the skin.

Apply to cotton pad and clean face, then rinse with water.
Guinot Energising scented body water
This is my favourite product for a week on the beach in Clifton. It is a great day alternative to perfume without being heavy or smelling too sweet. Guinot Eau-Neuve Energic / Energising Scented Body Water invigorates and revitalizes the skin cells for an instant boost in well-being and freshness. This body water has a sensual scent that absorbs quickly into the skin for enhanced energy. It contains ginseng extract that contains anti-aging and regenerating properties that stimulate the skin to help keep it youthful. When absorbed, it softens and tones the skin.

Spray all over the body, couldn’t be easier, right?
Screaming beauty make-up blender
I never saw the point of these until I took the plunge and bought one, and now I won’t go back! Unlike traditional makeup sponges, the Beautyblender is hydrophilic, a fancy word that means it’s designed to absorb water. Back in 2007, most makeup sponges were designed to actually repel moisture, with the logic being that a soaked sponge meant product lost. But if you wet the blender first it soaks up the water so there’s no room left in it to absorb your foundation, too.

Wet, apply foundation and blend, blend, blend.
