Dinner is served, Madame et Monsieur

Gentlemen’s Arthouse

Why settle for your usual Italian restaurant on the corner when you can dine amongst creatures extraordinaire at Joburg’s hottest new artisanal cocktail bar?

From the moment you step into the door at Gentlemen’s Arthouse in the theatre district of Newtown, you might as well throw your mink coat aside and let your inhibitions run wild. This original, 1911 Edwardian Washroom offers a feast for the senses –  from their world class cocktails to lush velvet curtains and cathedral stained windows.

Driving past this national heritage site, one is oblivious to the constant festivities which that take place within its four walls. The only way to describe such a place of wonder would be to try and imagine what it would be like if Jay Gatsby and Madam Zingara had a love child. Guests are treated to course after course of cordon bleu fare while taking in the awe-inspiring talents of fire breathers, trapeze artists and burlesque dancers. In this den of sensory delights, the dining experience spans a few hours – just as it should.

Leave the hustle and bustle of Sandton behind and enter the world of the curious and surprising for a night you will never forget.  Our advice?  Uber your way there because with Joburg’s best cocktails on offer and the party in full swing, it won’t be surprising if you find yourself looking for said mink coat in the early hours of the morning.
